Body Rhizomatous, stem ascending, woody towards the base

Leaves In spirals, oblong to elliptic to lanceolate, occasionally three-lobed, sometimes broadest above the middle,
Flowers In pairs, green or purplish, flower stem 0,5 to 3 cm long, receptacle discoid and plane, occasionally convec. Flowering face elliptic, occasiionally triangular, fringe 1-5 mm broad, 2 primary appendages of 0,3-5 ,m long, occasionally 3 appendages, the third laterally, shortere then others. In specimens with a broad fringe appendages might be almost lacking.
Reproduction Seed through fruit
Area In Cameroun, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon and Zaire;
In forest, often along streams or in marshy places;
At altitudes up to 1150 m.
