Herb
Body Relatively robust, tuberous, tuber globose to discoid, 0,5-3 cm in diameter. Annual stems, errect.
Height 5-35 cm long
Leaves Elliptic, 2-10 x 1-5 cm, green and yellowish brown when dry.
Flowers Receptacle discoid, subtriangular to angular to suborbicular, 3-10 appendages up to 6-8,5 cm long.
Reproduction Seed
Area In Ethiopia and from SE Kenya to Mozambique and Zimbabwe, also in Madagascar;
In deciduous forest, coastal woodland. thickets, wooded grassland, in damp and shaded places, often along rivers;
At altitudes between 700 and 1800 m.
