Body Rhizomatous, stem errect, sometimes branched, woody towards the base
Height Up to 90 cm tall
Leaves Lanceolate to elliptic, broadest mostly above, sometimes in or below the middle, often narrowed below the middle, 3-22 x 1,5-8,5 cm.
Flowers Pale greenish to black purple flowers, flower stem 1,5-7 cm long, flowering face subtriangular to multangular or tending to orbicular. 1-3 appendages if subtriangular, 4-6 if multangular, up to 6 cm long.
Reproduction Unknown
Area In SE Nigeria, Cameroun and Congo;
In forest, often near streams;
At altitudes up to 1100 m.
